Cuellar, M.J., "Varieties
of Critical Realism" To be submitted as
an Issues and Opinions piece to MIS Quarterly. A comparison
of Bhaskarian, Cambellian and Weberian Critical Realism
showing that they are distinct and unique and that findings
and methodologies must be converted before using cross-paradigm.
To be submitted to MISQ Issues and Opinions.
Cuellar, M.J., "A Realist
Conceptualization of Information Systems Usage".
This paper is a review of the extant literature on information
systems usage by organizations and a reconceptualization
of that use based on realist social theory. Targeted at
MIS Quarterly Theory and Review Section or Information
Systems Research.
Cuellar, M.J. "A Theoretical
Underpinning for Alters Work System Theory."
Alters Work Systems Theory is a generally useful
approach for examining information systems in organizations.
Based as it is on Alters experience in industry,
it lacks grounding in social theory. This paper provides
such a basis reconceptualizing it in terms of Archers
realist social theory. Targeted at MISQ Theory and Review
section or Information Systems Research.
Cuellar, M.J., Keil, M. "The
Evolution of the Perceived Status of a Project."
Revision of paper from my dissertation. This paper will
use Archers Morphogenetic social theory to explain
how the perceptions of the status of a project changed
during the course of a project. It will provide an exemplar
of the process in my 2010 paper and provide some insights
on how the construct of project success can be conceptualized.
